UppUpp is designed to make gratitude journaling as simple as speaking. Instead of typing or writing, you simply speak your thoughts into the app. Our intelligent system helps you identify and organize your "Happy Moments" — the positive experiences you want to remember.

After recording, you can review your moments, add reflections, and build a personal archive of gratitude that grows over time. It's perfect for capturing thoughts on the go, whether you're in bed, in the car, or right after a meaningful experience.

Your data is your private journal

Your entries, transcripts, and recordings are tied to your account. In practice, this means your account can only access its own data, not another person's journal. The same principle applies to stored recordings.

Protection while data moves and while it is stored

When data travels between your device and our systems, it is encrypted so it cannot be read along the way. We also protect stored journal entries, transcripts, and recordings while they remain in our systems.

On your device, sign-in information is kept in Apple's protected storage area rather than in an easily readable place inside the app. This helps keep your account access secure on the device itself.

Sign-in and session protection

The app uses secure sign-in tokens to confirm that requests really belong to you. These tokens are renewed automatically so your session stays secure and the app does not have to rely on outdated sign-in data during sensitive actions.

If you later add an email address to an existing account, your journal stays with the same account instead of being split into a new one. If you change your email, the new address must be confirmed before the change takes effect.

Voice recordings

Your voice recordings are stored on your device first. They are then uploaded securely so they can be processed and synced. Recordings are used to create a text transcript and to make your entries available across the app where needed.

For playback and offline use, some data may also remain on your device. If you delete an entry, the associated stored copies are removed as part of that deletion.

AI processing: what is sent and what is not

Your audio may be used for transcription, but it is not sent directly from the app to external AI providers. The app sends recordings securely to our backend first, and transcription is handled from there through service providers used to run the feature.

For AI-based summaries and reflections, only the text transcript is sent for analysis, not the raw audio recording. The transcript sent for analysis does not include your email address, user ID, or other direct identifiers. That means the analysis provider receives text to process, but not the information needed to identify you directly as a person.

AI processing is used only to provide UppUpp's features for you. Your entries and transcripts are not sold, are not used for advertising, and are not shared with other users.

You can delete your data

You can delete individual entries at any time. If you delete your account, the stored data associated with it is permanently removed. This includes the journal content connected to that account, not just the login itself.

Local data on your device

To support offline use and a smoother experience, the app may keep local copies of some data on your device. These local copies stay inside the app's own protected area on iPhone and are not openly available to other apps.

Operational logs

We keep limited technical records to keep the app reliable and secure, for example when something fails or a sync problem needs to be diagnosed. These records are for operating the service, not for advertising or tracking your behavior across other apps or websites.
